Super Bowl Party

Dan and Jo got married the Saturday before the Super Bowl (blog post coming soon!), and instead of having a traditional “farewell brunch,” Dan’s dad approached me about throwing a big Super Bowl Party. We started with one of the conference rooms at the Courtyard Marriott in Decatur, where all the guests were staying for the wedding, and a vision to create a comfortable, inviting, space for people to relax and enjoy the game. With the help of some great vendor partners we put this party together in just over a month, and it was one of the most fun events I’ve ever worked on. All of the guests had a blast and were blown away with how we transformed the room.

Take a look at the room before we got our hands on it:

And after the transformation was complete…

Guests were greeted with football details including a turf floor, football field dance floor, football truss towers, custom Super Bowl Squares board, and football display boxes customized with the bride & groom’s names, all courtesy of Track Seven Events. Three soft furniture groupings and a hard seating area provided ample options for guests, all with clear visibility to one of the 5 big screen TVs. Football themed favors were spread around the room, the most popular being the official NFL Super Bowl 52 baseball hats and beanies. Here’s a closer look at some of the details…

And what’s a Super Bowl party without food?! Bold Catering kept everyone very well fed with four different stations and a dessert station. Pre-game offerings included wings, make your own nachos, veggies and dips, and a spread of pita chips and flat breads. For dinner guests LOVED the BBQ Sundae Station, where you can choose between a macaroni and cheese or mashed potato base, top it with pulled pork, pulled chicken, or beef brisket, and then add your favorite sauces and toppings. In addition, we offered an assortment of sliders, housemade chips, South City Kitchen’s famous fried chicken, brussel sprouts, and fried green tomatoes. For dessert, guests enjoyed the “Donut Went Down to Georgia” station with Krispy Kreme donuts and vanilla & chocolate ice cream. I’m pretty sure no one left hungry!!

Is your mouth watering yet??

Here are just a few photos of the guests enjoying themselves during the event. The atmosphere was exactly what we were going for – fun, relaxed, comfortable, and as laid back as you could be watching a super intense, high stakes, football game!

Everyone had a blast and I look forward to throwing more Super Bowl parties next year when the Big Game comes to Atlanta! If you’re thinking about it, it’s never too early to reach out! I’m sure venues are already booking up quickly, but I can help you find the perfect space!
